Sagkeeng First Nation Washrooms

Sagkeeng First Nation, MB

Year:  In Construction
Location:  Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba
Client: Sagkeeng First Nation

This project supports the construction of two changeroom and washroom buildings on the north shore and south shore of Sagkeeng First Nation designed to serve new splash pad installations in each location. The facilities will provide safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces for families and youth to gather, play, and cool off during the summer months.

BridgmanCollaborative Architecture and ODK Engineering held an in-person design workhop with students from Sagkeeng Anicinabe High School. Youth not only helped determine the location and shape of the buildings, but also played a key role in defining the functional layout ensuring the spaces reflect how they’ll be used and what the community needs most. As part of the project’s commitment to hands-on learning and community involvement, students will also assist in the construction gaining valuable experience and contributing directly to a space they helped envision.

These buildings will enhance recreational infrastructure in Sagkeeng while fostering community connection and youth engagement through thoughtful, collaborative design.
