Swan Lake First Nation Youth Centre

Swan Lake, MB

Year:  Under Construction (Completion 2027)
Location:  Swan Lake, MB
Client:  Swan Lake First Nation

The vision for the Prevention Building is to expand and strengthen programs for families, children, and youth by creating additional space for culturally informed services. The 17, 220 SF facility will support a wide range of prevention activities that promote the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness of First Nations children, youth, young adults, and families.

To ensure the design reflects community needs, BCA has engaged youth from the Swan Lake community to provide input and help shape the space. The building will include a teaching kitchen for nutrition and life skills, a gymnasium with stage area, a recording and media room, flexible teaching and gathering areas, and a round cultural room for ceremony and traditional practices.

This dedicated space for intergenerational, family-focused prevention programs will help build strong, healthy family supports through culturally grounded approaches. It will also include additional office space, allowing the agency to hire much-needed staff to meet growing service demands.
